Cathédrale de Nicolet

The Nicolet cathedral is a wonderful example of contemporary architecture used to good effect in a religious building. It is distinguished by its breadth and its simplicity; no rood screen, no columns, "like a great clear and uncluttered vessel where all can see and hear".

Also noteworthy is the immense glass roof of its façade, which brightens up the place with light and colors, and its arched vaults converging above the altar; moreover, curved lines predominate in the whole building. The emphasis has truly been on the liturgy.
